Oyster Bay Golf Links was honored as the Best New Course of the Year upon opening some twenty years ago, and also has been awarded with 4 1/2 stars by Golf Digest Places to Play. This championship design combines strategic elements of golf architecture to provide a challenging and memorable golf experience for all levels of players. Golfers will encounter wonderful conditioning from tee to green along a links inspired design that features cavernous bunkers, wickedly undulating green complexes and lengthy par fours (5 of them measuring 440 yards plus). These design features create a blend of penal and heroic philoshophies that will have golfers think their way about the course.

Four sets of tee boxes present golfers with the opportunities to play from distances and slopes that measure 6685 yards/136 slope, 6325 yards/130 slope, 5576 yards/120 slope for men and 133 for women, and 4665 yards with a slope of 118 from the forward tee areas. As these slopes indicate, experienced golfers will have their games challenged from the two back tees, while mid to high handicappers can enjoy a fair round from the white and red tees.

The course presents significant bunkering with 67 sand traps and waste areas scattered about the hilly, mounded terrain. Water hazards come into play in some shape or form on 14 of the holes (including the marsh areas), with several forced carries off the tee or on the approach. Golfers of all skill levels will appreciate the wide landing zones on predominantly tree lined fairways, as well as the open fronts to many of the greens, which often are protected by sand bunkers on the sides. The sloping putting surfaces are fun to play but the overall size and tricky undulations will challenge this aspect of the game for most golfers.

The clubhouse features a pro shop plus grill & bar open for breakfast and lunch items . On course color coded flags indicate the day's pin placements, and the Kirby marking system is in place on the fairways, with yardages posted every 25 yards from 200 to 75.
