The Parkland Course at Legends Resort

The Parkland is one of three courses situated on resort property at the Legends. Like the two other courses on property, this course was awarded 4 1/2 stars by Golf Digest Places to Play. Modeled after the architecture of Alister Mckenzie (Augusta National) and George Thomas (Riviera Country Club) this layout was designed to fit the natural contours of the land. Golfers will encounter tree lined fairways, vast natural areas, deep-faced bunkers and massive multi-level greens.

There are 64 soft sand bunkers strategically located near the landing zones or situated greenside, and water hazards come into play on 7 of the holes, with a few forced carries. The wide fairways provide ample room for error off the tee, but generally tighten as golfers approach the green complexes. There is significant mounding greenside, so a good short game is necessary to recover from slightly offline approach shots.

Four sets of tee areas play to distances and slopes measuring 7215 yards/136 slope, 6834 yards/133 slope, 6396 yards/130 slope and 5351 yards with a slope of 125 from the red tees. This is the longest course of the Legend group, with 6 par fours of 400 yards plus and some lengthy par threes as well. Long hitters will appreciate the ample opportunities to utilize their drivers off the tee on the Parkland layout.

On course yardages are marked every 25 yards from 200 to 75 (from 250 on par fives), and color coded flags indicate the day's front, middle or back hole locations. Larry Young has designed a course that both avid golfers and resort players can enjoy. This layout provides a nice compliment to a strong group of varying designs on the Legends Resort property.
