Indian Wells
Indian Wells in Myrtle Beach was voted as the Myrtle Beach Golf Course of the Year in 2004! This classic design is respected for its consistent conditioning and value price structure, making it one of the best choices on any golf itinerary. Visitors will appreciate the detailed scorecards, which provide diagrams for each hole with hazards and yardages noted.
The clubhouse facilities are also to be appreciated, as guests can enjoy a stocked pro shop, restaurant/lounge open for breakfast and lunch, plus locker rooms with showers and separate lounges for men and women. The practice area includes a targeted grass range, putting green and short game area for chipping.
On course yardages are posted on the cart paths and fairways at 100, 150 and 200 yards (250 on par fives) and a 150 yard post also doubles as a directional device on all par fours and fives. The flags on th greens are color coded for front, middle and back hole locations, but golfers will find all the information they need on the Pro link GPS units that are standard on all carts.
Four sets of tee areas play to distances and slopes measuring 6624 yards/136 slope, 6225 yards/130 slope, 5811 yards/122 slope and 4872 yards with a slope of 118 from the forward sets. There are 50 sand bunkers located near the landing zones or situated greenside, and water is also a strong feature with hazards coming into play in some shape or form on 15 holes.
Though not an overly long course, Indian Wells presents some staunch challenges which keeps golfers on their toes. For more info, visit our page for the course, with direct link to their website by clicking here.
