Founders Club
The Founders Club is a classic Thomas Walker design situated south of the Myrtle Beach resort area in Pawley's Island. This 4-star layout features expansive waste areas (that also function as cart path) that frame most of the holes, providing challenge as well as aesthetic beauty. Only the beautiful par three third - which is all carry over a pond, features topography free of the sandy waste areas.
There are 5 sets of tee areas, so golfers of all skill levels should be able to choose a set that fits their game. The tips measure 7007 yards with a formidable slope rating of 139, while alternate sets play to distances and slopes measuring 6708 yards/134 slope for men and 148 for women, 6394 yards/129 slope for men and 133 for women, and 4805 yards with a slope of 114 for men and 117 for ladies hitting from the front tees.
Including the waste bunkers, there are a total of 67 sand traps located near the landing zones or situated greenside, and water hazards come into play on 11 holes. The layout winds its way through a residential community wide fairways that are often defined by perimeter mounding. Mounds also frame many of the raised green complexes, which include large undulating putting surfaces.
The yardage marking system includes sprinkler heads that are measured to the center of the green as well as 150 yard posts that are positioned on all par fours and fives. The Pro Link GPS that is standard on all carts also provides accurate information from the sculpted tees to the pin.
On property is a clubhouse with pro shop, bar & grill, plus separate men's and women's lounges. Practice facilities include 2 putting greens and a short game area with sand bunkers. There is no range on property. For more info, visit our page for the course, with direct link tot heir website by clicking here.
