CROW CREEK Golf Club (910-287-3081)
Myrtle Beach Golf Course Review
Crow Creek in Calabash North Carolina (2 miles north of the state line and minutes from Myrtle Beach) is a Robbins & Associates International design featuring a scenic layout spread over 500 acres on Jerry Mclamb's family homestead. This imaginative layout with L93 bent grass greens and manicured Tifsport Bermuda fairways with a beautiful residential community situated on the perimeters.
Membership, real estate and community information is available on the Crow Creek website – click on this link www.crowcreek/index.html The property includes a clubhouse with pro shop and restaurant that is open for breakfast & lunch and hosts club functions. Practice facilities include a targeted grass range plus chipping and putting greens.
The design features a relatively open layout, with plentiful mounding near the landing zones off the tee and greenside. Approximately 115 white sand bunkers and waste areas adorn the track, and water hazards are also in abundance, as 16 of the holes have water in play in some shape or form. The large green complexes provide gentle slopes and significant recovery room, which means that avid golfers can score well and novices will not find the experience too intimidating.
Five sets of tees play to distances and slopes measuring 7101 yards/ 130 slope, 6679 yards/127 slope, 6099 yards/121 slope, 5628 yards/112 slope for men and 124 for women, and 5097 yards with a slope of 114 for ladies hitting from the red tees. 100, 150 and 200 yard blocks are posted on the fairways along with sprinkler heads and 150 yard stakes that are measured to the center of the green. The carts also have yardage markings and color coded flags indicate the day's front, middle or back hole locations
Each cart is equipped with ball and club washers, and rear covers that protect golf bags during inclement weather. Crow Creek is known for its friendly service, outstanding conditioning, and enjoyable playability of the layout. Golfers will encounter some carries and risk reward opportunities that keep the round interesting. There is trouble lurking for badly placed shots, but most holes have ample recovery room.
Nice layout with stellar maintenance, fine facilities and good service. We highly recommend it. For more info, visit our page for the course, with direct link to their website by clicking here.
