BURNING RIDGE GOLF CLUB (843-347-0538)
Myrtle Beach golf course review
Burning Ridge is one of the five courses in the Classic Golf Group (others are Wedgefied Plantation, Black Bear, Indian Wells and Founders Club) and is one of their top layouts. Located in Conway, this championship layout was voted 2006 Myrtle Beach Golf Course of the Year, and features a tree lined, mildly rolling terrain with a nice variety in hole design
The Clubhouse at Burning Ridge features a restaurant and bar. There also are changing rooms with showers, plus a well stocked pro shop. Practice facilities include a grass range, short game area plus putting green. During the re-design prior to 2006, nearly 4o sand bunkers wee removed to make the experience more playable and enjoyable.
There are 4 sets of tees designed to provide opportunities for golfers of all skill levels to enjoy a round here. The tips measure 6780 yards and play to a slope of 1137. Alternate sets measure 6216 yards/133 slope, 5724 yards with a 123 slope and 4524 yards with a slope of 111 from the forward tees. 100, 150 and 200 yard markers are posted on all par fours and fives and some sprinkler heads also have measurements to the center of the green. Color coded flags indicate front, middle or back hole locations.
There are 35 sand bunkers situated along the landing zones on the gently rolling fairways or greenside, and water comes into play on 8 holes The course design is such that most golfers will have an opportunity to use every club in their bag. Players will encounter raised greens and mildly sloping putting surfaces.
The layout features numerous doglegs that call for the proper distance and shot shape off the tee. Several holes demand forced carries over ponds or natural areas, but the hazards are often out of play from the playable, forward tees. This is indeed a women friendly layout - but can be very challenging from the tips.
With the 4 tee areas, plentiful room near most greens and well conditioned and landscaped playing surfaces, this is a course that can be fun for all levels of golfers. This is a good value for the area and highly recommended by this website! For more info, visit our page for the course with direct link to their website by clicking here.
